Winter Pairs

Winter PairsA total of 15 duos clashed in our Winter Pairs Red Point event. Congratulations to Dasha Brandt and David Bowerman winners of the day with 62%. Normally a percentage in the 60%s would signal a comfortable win however on this occasion Jorgen Boettiger and Deborah Guthrie finished a mere 0.5% behind to fill the 2nd podium spot. Julie Teague & Joan Walsh finished a respectable third..

It was a good day for bridge with chilly temperatures outside and warm bridge hearts inside.

BWBC GNOT Qualifying

GNOT winnersEight teams competed in the Brisbane Water round of the GNOT.  The event was won by local Team Lindsay.  They scored 5 wins out of 7 giving them top spot at the close of play.  BWBC squad, Team Wulff, had the same number of wins but the VPs were against them relegating the players to 2nd spot on the podium.  Gosford, Team Coats, filled the final podium spot with a 3, 1, 3 result.

Thanks to Tournament Secretary Peter Hume for convening this gold point event. Our thanks go to Ronnie Ng for his faultless directing. Sylvia handled the catering of today’s event and was ably assisted by Connie Lewis, Lorraine Lindsay and Bob & Beryl Lowry.  Jurate’s yummy treats also proved very popular

A qualifying round of this event is still to be played at Gosford. Therefore, hopeful teams still have a chance of making the cut.
A most enjoyable day of bridge... thanks all.

Team Lindsay – Lorraine Lindsay, Chris Hannan, Jaan Oitmaa & Sylvia Foster
Team Wulff – Judy Wulff, Susan McCall, Dasha Brandt and David Bowerman
Team Coats – Di Coats, Jan Clarke, Sally & Garry Clarke
