Noel Crockett

Noel Crockett - elected Life Member 2015

Noel started playing bridge in 1974 at Lindfield, a very large club, playing weekly for over 20 years.

He had no formal classes but learned from playing with long time partner Jim Gould.

He joined BWBC in 1996

Over the following years Noel held the positions of:

President 2002, 03, 05, 06, 09,10

Vice President:  2004, 07, 08

He has been a Director and Teacher over many years since.

Noel is seen to be thorough in his teaching to classes, supervising new players, and helping individuals, happy to talk over a hand, freely giving of his time.

People who influenced my play: “Jim Gould - playing with Jim Gould for many years at Lindfield who taught me a lot about the game, a very patient man and considerate partner”.

Noel was President when, in early 2005 new premises were sought. Camilla Barlow (secretary) investigated the options and the decision made to move to our current premises, in the Peninsula Community Centre, a major task.

Congresses “I’ve gone to most, including Blue Mountains, Gold Coast, Canberra and regional venues”.

Best memories of the Bridge scene: “I have really enjoyed the people, the co-operation and the happy atmosphere of the club”.
