Marilyn Whigham

Marilyn Whigham - elected Life Member 2002

Marilyn started playing bridge at BWBC 1991 with lessons from Lorraine (Lindsay).

Marilyn was influenced by Lorraine who shared her love for the game as well as the techniques of play and really taught appreciation and enjoyment of the game of bridge.

Marilyn was a member during the years that BWBC was at home in Ocean Beach and Umina Beach surf clubs before moving to its current site at Peninsula Community Centre, in Woy Woy.

Marilyn served in executive positions for the club over 9 years:

Secretary: 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996

President 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001

Vice President: 2000

Marilyn was also a director, running Saturday and Wednesday night sessions for several years.

As a member of CCLCBC, Marilyn served as an office bearer there too.

Competitions/Congresses : “I’ve gone to many over the years and really enjoyed them all – Canberra Gold Coast, Taree, Forster…”

Best memories of the Bridge scene: the friendships and the laughter.
